BackToSchool

Dear Parents,

Welcome back!! We are so excited about school starting on August 24th. As we begin school, please keep in mind that our teachers and students will be learning new ways “to teach” and “to learn”. Our staff has been working very hard all summer to plan, revise, and develop new lessons in order to prepare for this year. As parents, you will be one of the most critical components in the success of your child. We will do everything we can to make sure your child meets all academic expectations but we must work together because our students have not been in school since last March. We know there will be learning gaps and are planning to review from day one. Your support, patience, and participation in your child’s education will be imperative and greatly appreciated.
We love each and every one of our students. We have missed them so much and can’t wait to be back in school. If there is ever a point in time you have concerns, questions, or just need clarification, please contact the school and we will be more than happy to assist you. We are asking that parents refrain from posting anything negative on social media. We MUST work together as we navigate through these uncharted waters. We didn’t ask for this pandemic or the ever changing outcomes. We would love nothing more than to have “normalcy” at school, but right now that’s just not possible. Our goal is to put as many safeguards in place at school to keep our students and staff safe and healthy. Attached is important information for our parents.

1. Your child’s teacher will be contacting you this week with important back to school information. If your phone number has changed, please contact the office at 573-379-5706 between 8:00AM-3:00PM.

2. Open House will be virtual this year for grades kindergarten-5th. Each grade level/teacher will be posting videos and sending these to parents via email.

3. Mrs. Kim and Mrs. Shanna will be giving a virtual tour of the school as well as showing parents some safeguards we’ve put into place. It will be posted on our FB page by the end of next week.

4. Visitors will NOT be allowed in the building until further notice. If you need to come to school for any reason, please call ahead to make arrangements with Mrs. Brandy.

5. We will allow all PK/K parents to walk their child to the back entrance by Kindergarten hall for the first week of school. A staff member will meet you at that door to walk your child to their classroom.

6. We’re asking ALL parents to take your child’s temperature before sending them to school. If your child is sick or running a fever, please keep them at home and call the school office.

7. Breakfast and lunch will be served in your child’s classroom. We will begin the year with one choice for breakfast and one choice for lunch. Our menu will be posted as soon as possible on the school website.

8. We are still working on our bus routes and maximum capacity for each bus. If you filled out a transportation application because you live within a half mile from school, we will contact you as soon as we have accurate numbers.

9. We will be posting tutorials in Google Classroom and emailing them to parents on how to set up accounts, sign into different platforms, and access classroom materials.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school at 573-379-5706. Please do not post questions on this post. Thanks so much for your cooperation.
